Clear Lake
Bayshore OA Ordeal April 9-11, 2010
The OA orientation for the candidates and their
parents will begin at 8:30 PM after dinner at Wesley Center at Clear
Lake United Methodist Church This will be the fourth Ordeal organized by
Ani-Lati Chapter. We have
82 youths elected to the order this year.
We also have 15 nominations for the adults.
This is a very well run event thanks to a tremendous support
from the Ordeal Team. To
assure another successful Ordeal, we ask each troop to provide at
least one Elangomat for every five Scouts attending the Ordeal.
However, we will be happy to accommodate as many members as you
can provide for this wonderful event.
This is the best way for the troop to show support to your
fellow Scouts. Registration fee is $60 for the candidates and $10
for staff, youths or adults.
A late fee of $25 will be imposed to the candidates after April
2. Registration and
medical forms can be dropped off at the Scout Shop or emailed directly
to OA Secretary as addressed on the
form.

2010 Historical Merit Badges
***New***
For the 100th Anniversary Celebration, four vintage merit badges are
being released during the Centennial Year only to give Boy Scouts the
hands-on opportunity to experience the exciting past of BSA. These
merit badges closely resemble the original designs, however, they
carry a shiny gold thread border to be immediately identifiable as a
2010 Historical Merit Badge. These badges, first offered in 1911, can
be traced back to the origins of the BSA and the original merit badge
requirements are used whenever possible. The badges are: Carpentry,
Pathfinding, Signaller, Tracking. All can be used towards rank
advancement. The requirements will be posted at
www.scouting.org/100years
in mid February and must be completed by December 31, 2010.
